Description
The Mercedes-Benz W108 280SE, introduced in the late 1960s, remains one of the brand’s most elegant sedans. Designed by Paul Bracq, it carried a formal yet graceful presence with clean lines, subtle chrome, and the iconic, classic Mercedes grille. Inside, it offered solid craftsmanship with wood trim, and durable, comfortable seating.
Powered by a inline-six with fuel injection, the 280SE delivered refined performance and effortless cruising, paired with either manual or automatic transmission. Its independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes gave it control and composure ahead of its time.
The example on offer has been beautifully restored to a metallic green, with fully redone red leather interior. The restoration was done to a premium level, with a meticulous previous owner who lusted for perfection. So much so that the doors close upon a gentle push. No slamming necessary. It is a left hand drive example, assembled in Germany and has a 4-speed floorshift manual with 94700km showing. Features include a sunroof, air conditioning blowing ice cold, Ivory white steering wheel, Mahogany wood surround trim, original period correct radio, factory spot lights, white wall tires and American spec double headlights. Today, the W108 280SE stands as a timeless classic, valued for its design, engineering, and the enduring quality that made Mercedes-Benz the benchmark of luxury.
