Description
The Ferrari Superamerica is a unique chapter in Ferrari’s long lineage of front-engined V12 grand tourers. Built between 2005 and 2006, it was based on the already stunning 575M Maranello but offered something truly unique, a Revocromico rotating roof.
Instead of a traditional convertible mechanism, the Superamerica’s carbon-fiber roof panel rotated 180 degrees and laid flat over the rear boot lid, transforming the coupe into a convertible in just seconds. It was an innovative design that preserved the car’s silhouette while offering open-top driving at the push of a button.
Under the hood, the Superamerica packed a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 producing 540hp, making it the fastest convertible of its time with a top speed of over 320 km/h. Buyers could choose between the classic six-speed gated manual or the F1-style automated transmission. Only 559 units were made, a nod to the exclusivity Ferrari is known for.
